To predict progression of chronic kidney disease, researchers recently examined the performance of a Kidney Failure Risk Equation that uses four variables — age, sex, urinary albumin–creatinine ratio, and a formula for estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) that does not incorporate race — to predict progression of chronic kidney disease (NEJM JW Gen Med Mar 1 2022 and Ann Intern Med 2022 Jan 11; [e-pub]).
