For select patients with acute ischemic stroke, thrombolysis and endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) are two key interventions. Because not all hospitals are capable of performing EVT, some have questioned whether transporting patients directly to a thrombectomy capable center (TCC) has advantages over transport to the closest stroke center.
