A polygenic risk score aggregates the risk associated with many common DNA sequence variants into a single factor. The current study examined a blood pressure polygenic risk score, which can estimate a person's genetic risk of elevated blood pressure. The objective was to evaluate the association of the blood pressure polygenic risk score with blood pressure traits in a multi-ancestry cohort, the association with incident cardiovascular events, and the incremental value beyond traditional risk factors.
