Lifestyle factors are potentially modifiable risk factors for cognitive decline. In this study, researchers from two sites assessed whether exercise, mindfulness, or both improved cognition after 6 and 18 months in older adults aged 65 to 84 years with subjective cognitive concerns but no dementia or known neurodegenerative condition. Primary outcomes included changes in episodic memory and executive function scores. Secondary outcomes included MRI brain changes in hippocampal volume, dorsolateral prefrontal cortex thickness and surface area, functional cognitive capacity, and self-reported cognitive concerns.
