When combined with a stroke unit system of care, telestroke consultations are associated with improved rates of acute stroke treatment and functional outcomes. Whether this combined approach benefits patients with other acute neurological syndromes remains unclear. Researchers in northeast Germany developed a teleneurology network of 11 rural hospitals connected with 3 comprehensive neurological centers and a comprehensive epilepsy center.
