Is hospice profit status associated with the experiences of hospice patients' family and friend caregivers? In this cross-sectional study, researchers used U.S. Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Hospice Survey data that were collected between 2017 and 2019 from >650,00 family and friend caregivers. Data on 900 not-for-profit and 1800 for-profit hospices were evaluated; outcomes were 8 CAHPS measures, including willingness to recommend, communication, treating family members with respect, help for symptoms, and emotional and religious support. The mean decedent age was 83.
