Tuberculosis (TB) continues to be a common opportunistic infection in persons with HIV (PWH) worldwide. The current standard treatment for HIV is a fixed-dose combination of tenofovir/lamivudine (or emtricitabine) and dolutegravir. Because dolutegravir has important interactions with rifampin, doubling the dolutegravir dose from 50 mg daily to twice daily is recommended when coadministered with rifampin — a recommendation that is a logistic challenge.
