Social determinants of health and medical conditions may affect the interpretation of plasma biomarkers for Alzheimer disease (AD). In this community-based cross-sectional study, researchers analyzed the association of plasma AD biomarkers with cognition and medical conditions among Black people and non-Hispanic white (NHW) people. Plasma biomarkers included phosphorylated amyloid-beta 42/40, phosphorylated tau 181 (p-tau181), glial fibrillary acid protein (GFAP), and neurofilament light chain (NfL). Mini-Mental State Examination scores (MMSE) were used to assess cognition.
