Dr. Paul Sax discusses the ACORN trial comparing cefepime with piperacillin-tazobactam, the results of which were presented at IDWeek 2023, in
HIV and ID Observations.
It's exceedingly difficult to do a great clinical trial, says Dr. Paul Sax. In the latest HIV and ID Observations, he highlights a study presented at IDWeek 2023 that looked at whether treatment with piperacillin-tazobactam or cefepime affects renal outcomes in adults hospitalized with acute infection. The study, says Dr. Sax, is “an impressive feat of generating clinically relevant evidence on an important topic, and doing so quickly in a way that harmonizes with actual patient care.”
