In its 153-week blinded analysis, the HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN) trial 083 demonstrated that injectable cabotegravir (CAB) was superior to daily oral tenofovir disoproxil fumarate plus emtricitabine (TDF/FTC) for preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in cisgender men and transgender women who have sex with men (NEJM JW Infect Dis Aug 16 2021 and N Engl J Med 2021; 385:595). One year after the trial's unblinding, Landovitz and colleagues now present HPTN 083 results in 3290 participants (1663 [CAB] and 1627 [TDF/FTC]).
