Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ),* a rare side effect of bisphosphonates and other antiresorptive drugs, attracted considerable attention in the medical literature 10 to 20 years ago (NEJM JW Gen Med May 1 2008). Now, in a report from the oral medicine unit of a large Israeli medical center, researchers revisit this disorder — and describe extraoral clinical presentations.
