Shortages of primary care and infectious disease (ID) physicians as well as HIV-experienced clinicians heighten the need to optimize settings for future HIV care. Simplified, effective antiretroviral therapy (ART) options have shifted the focus of care from complex opportunistic infections and ART management to the healthcare needs of often-marginalized populations.
