Social determinants of health pose challenges to achieving goals for HIV treatment and prevention. Long-acting antiretroviral therapy (LA-ART) and LA-preexposure prophylaxis (LA-PrEP) are highly effective interventions that are yet to be widely applied in settings outside of HIV clinics and for people experiencing homelessness. To expand use of LA-ART and LA-PrEP for people experiencing homelessness, a community resource center in San Francisco adapted LA-ART and LA-PrEP guidelines from Ward 86 to pilot their use for persons living with HIV (PLWH) and persons at risk for HIV. Monetary gift cards were provided to incentivize on-time injections and laboratory assessments.
