2024 DHHS Guidelines Recommend Anal Cancer Screening in Persons Living with HIV

Background and Objective

A panel of experts regularly updates recommendations for treatment and prevention of opportunistic infections in persons living with HIV (PLHIV). Now, due to the high incidence of anal cancer in PLHIV, the panel has included recommendations to screen for anal cancer as guided by key findings of the ANCHOR study.
