In recent years, aspirin has become the favored agent for prevention of postoperative venous thromboembolism (VTE) after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). In 2022, an international consensus group recommended low-dose aspirin as the optimal choice for this purpose (NEJM JW Gen Med Apr 15 2022 and J Bone Joint Surg Am 2022; 104:Suppl 1:4, 180).
