In a cluster-randomized study during the West African Ebola outbreak of 2014–2016, the efficacy of live replicating rVSV-ZEBOV-GP (recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus–Zaire Ebola virus glycoprotein) vaccine was 100%. To mitigate the 2018–2020 Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, rVSV-ZEBOV-GP ring vaccination and infection control measures were applied.
