More Data on the Cognitive Safety of Very Low LDL-C Levels

In patients achieving a median LDL level of 35 mg/dL, neuropsychological testing found no change in cognitive function after 5 years of follow-up.

Despite decades of safety evidence, concerns remain about the cognitive effects of achieving a very low level of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). To evaluate the long-term cognitive safety of achieving and sustaining very low LDL-C levels, researchers performed an open-label extension of the EBBINGHAUS (Evaluating PCSK9 Binding Antibody Influence on Cognitive Health in High Cardiovascular Risk Subjects) study.
