Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD), characterized by abnormal vasodilatory capacity or intense vasoconstriction affecting smaller coronary arteries, can occur without epicardial obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) and is a challenging condition without widely effective treatments.
