In patients receiving critical care, invasive fungal infections are common and associated with considerable mortality despite antifungal treatment. Furthermore, over- and underdosing occurs when such patients have altered pharmacokinetics secondary to factors such as organ dysfunction and receipt of multiple interacting drugs.
