Technological advances have facilitated the application of robotic surgery systems to an ever-expanding list of procedures. These systems consist of a robotic arm/actuator in the operating room to execute precise movements, a console outside the operating room to control the robotic arm's movements while reducing radiation exposure for fluoroscopy, and a viewscreen for navigation and visualization of anatomic structures.
