2017 U.S. Adult Immunization Schedule

Background

The ACIP has released its 2017 recommendations for immunizing adults (age, ≥19). This year's schedule includes changes, all relatively minor, in rules for administering influenza, human papillomavirus (HPV), and meningococcal vaccines. We have reprinted the age-specific recommended immunization table.

What's Changed?

• The live attenuated flu vaccine should not be given during the current influenza season. Even adults with severe egg allergy can receive the inactivated or recombinant preparations if suitable precautions are taken.
