Measles is resurging in parts of the United States where vaccine coverage has declined. In early 2025, a major outbreak in west Texas resulted in 325 cases reported in just 2 months, including 60 hospitalizations (18%). A new CDC report focuses on the 54 hospitalized patients whose medical records were available for review ().
All the patients were unvaccinated or had unknown vaccination status, and most (91%) were children.
