: The publishers of a 2002 Nature paper issued a retraction after determining that the reliability of the reported data was in question.The paper “Pluripotency of mesenchymal stem cells derived from adult marrow” by Jiang and colleagues, which appeared in Nature in June 2002, was formally retracted by the publishers in 2024 after concerns were raised about a figure in the article, leading the editors to state that they “no longer [had] confidence in the reliability of the data reported.” We have updated our coverage to note the paper’s retraction.
