Epidemiologic investigation revealed the exact date when NYC acquired HIV, during unprotected sex with CT01 and CT01’s long-time sexual partner (“CT02”). HIV samples from the three men were compared with respect to genotype, phenotype, replicative capacity, and coreceptor use.
