Infectious Diseases Top Stories of 2010

The Journal Watch Infectious Diseases editors and readers choose their favorite summaries from 2010.

Dear Readers,

This is the second year that we have done “Top Stories” for Journal Watch Infectious Diseases. For 2009, the predominant topic on both the Editors' Choice and the Most Read Online lists was H1N1 influenza. For 2010, only 1 of the overall total of 20 summaries addressed H1N1 influenza. Moreover, there was no duplication between the two lists. Nevertheless, the majority of summaries on both lists focused on bacterial infections and their complications. What's next? Will fungal or parasitic infections claim our attention in 2011?
