Despite some progress in tuberculosis (TB) control, the emergence of drug-resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis has presented huge challenges to disease management. Two recent investigations address different aspects of multidrug-resistant (MDR) TB.
Delamanid, a novel nitro-dihydro-imidazooxazole derivative, has shown in vitro and in vivo activity against drug-resistant M. tuberculosis.
