After decades of research, several dengue virus (DENV) vaccine candidates are in early clinical or preclinical development. In a recent manufacturer-funded, phase IIb trial conducted in Thailand, investigators assessed the protective efficacy of CYD-TDV, a recombinant, live-attenuated tetravalent vaccine based on the yellow fever 17D vaccine strain and administered in three injections.
