Background: Polysaccharide-protein conjugated vaccines for protection against Neisseria meningitidis (Nm) and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) are in routine use in the U.S. and many other countries. Hib vaccine is part of the U.S. childhood immunization program, and Nm vaccines are approved for routine administration in children aged 11 to 18 years and for immunization of children aged ≥9 months who are at increased risk for meningococcal disease.
