Angina in the absence of obstructive coronary artery disease is occasionally seen in clinical practice, particularly in women. Emerging data contradict the conventional wisdom that this clinical scenario is usually benign. These investigators assessed the prognostic implications of chest pain in women without obstructive CAD, as compared with asymptomatic women.
