Early repolarization is generally believed to be a benign finding in 12-lead electrocardiography; however, early repolarization in inferior leads has recently been linked to ventricular fibrillation. In a large, long-term, community-based Finnish study, investigators assessed the prognostic significance of early repolarization and compared it with that of prolonged corrected QT interval and LV hypertrophy (LVH) in 10,864 individuals between the ages of 30 and 59 who underwent baseline evaluation between 1966 and 1972.
