The PINNACLE project is a self-report provider registry sponsored by the American College of Cardiology to track the quality of outpatient cardiovascular care. In this report from the registry, researchers assessed adherence by providers in cardiology practices to a variety of performance measures for 14,464 outpatients with common cardiac diagnoses such as coronary artery disease (CAD; 56%), heart failure (35%), and atrial fibrillation (19%).
Adherence ranged from very low (for example, only 18% of CAD patients received a referral for cardiac rehabilitation) to very high (94% of CAD patients and 97% of heart failure patients had blood pressure measured at their last visit).
