Background and Purpose: This focused update of the 2007 guidelines is based on findings published or presented at major meetings through April 2010. Many of the new recommendations are derived from recent data on platelet inhibition, including the results of the TRITON–TIMI 38 trial (JW Cardiol Nov 4 2007) that led to FDA approval of the thienopyridine prasugrel.
