To assess the role of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) antagonists in treating heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFPEF), investigators identified 16,216 individuals with HFPEF (defined as an EF of ≥40%) who were enrolled in a Swedish HF registry between May 11, 2000, and October 10, 2011. Of these patients, 9103 received angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, 3172 received angiotensin-receptor blockers (ARBs), and 268 received both.
