In general, the skin is not a common site of visceral metastasis. When it does occur, the clinical and pathologic presentations of lesions metastasized from internal organ malignancies and soft-tissue sarcomas differ, depending on the primary site. Researchers retrospectively studied the clinical and pathologic features of cutaneous metastases seen at a comprehensive cancer center during a 15-year period, with an emphasis on the role of immunohistochemical stains in diagnosis.
