Mycosis fungoides (MF) is very difficult to diagnose definitively. Flow cytometry (FC), a well-known diagnostic tool in hematopathology, is a technique for counting and performing simultaneous multiparametric analysis of lymphocytes suspended in a stream of fluid. This test has not been much studied for cutaneous lymphomas, and most of the few studies in this area have focused on B-cell lymphomas. These authors used FC to test biopsy skin samples from 22 patients whose clinical picture suggested MF to determine the value of this strategy in the MF work-up.
