In vitiligo, narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) spectrum radiation induces repigmentation of the depigmented skin, but treatments require frequent trips to phototherapy units. Perhaps combinations of NB-UVB and topical therapy might hasten resolution or decrease the number of treatments or the total dose of NB-UVB needed for response. Topical tacrolimus ointment 0.1% has been used, alone or with sunlight exposure, to prevent progression of vitiligo and foster repigmentation.
