Should a patient with mild erythematotelangiectatic rosacea worry about disease progression to papules, pustules, phymas, and eye involvement? The answer is probably no, but a recent survey suggests a “progression march” may occur. Investigators in northern Germany recruited 135 subjects with rosacea to participate in a manufacturer-supported, noninterventional, cross-sectional examination and survey. Subjects had at least one of the four rosacea subtypes: erythematotelangiectatic rosacea (ETR), papulopustular rosacea (PPR), phymatous rosacea (PHY), or ocular rosacea (OR).
