Infliximab is a human–mouse chimeric antibody to tumor necrosis factor used as induction and maintenance therapy for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Development of antibodies to infliximab in some patients has been associated with loss of clinical response and lower serum infliximab levels. In the current meta-analysis of the association between infliximab antibodies and loss of clinical response, investigators identified 10 studies that met their inclusion criteria and included data on loss of clinical response by status of antibodies to infliximab in 668 patients with IBD.
