Proximal Serrated Polyp Detection: Why So Variable?

Detection of proximal serrated polyps varies substantially between endoscopists within the same practicing group. To investigate this variability and explore possible associations with patient- and procedure-related factors, researchers in the Netherlands prospectively assessed detection rates of proximal serrated polyps (hyperplastic polyps, sessile serrated polyps, or traditional serrated adenomas) among five endoscopists who performed screening colonoscopy in 1354 patients.
