Many patients diagnosed with sinus headache fulfill the International Headache Society (IHS) criteria for migraine. To examine correlations between findings on CT scans and migraine features in patients with “sinus headache,” the authors obtained paranasal sinus CT scans from 35 consecutive patients with a complaint of sinus headache.
Of the 35 patients, 26 met IHS migraine diagnostic criteria. Radiographic severity scores did not differ significantly between the migraine and the nonmigraine subgroups; nor did abnormal CT findings correlate with symptomatic side.
