These authors reviewed evidence regarding the role of antihypertensive therapy in preventing cognitive disorders in elders without histories of stroke. They identified relevant articles listed in PubMed from 1946 to October 2007.
Based on the identified research, the authors conclude that hypertension contributes to cognitive decline.
