This study addressed whether exclusive breast-feeding for at least 2 months postpartum (with concomitant lactation amenorrhea) would protect against postpartum relapses of multiple sclerosis (MS). Investigators conducted prospective, structured interviews of pregnant women (29 with MS and 28 healthy controls) to assess clinical, menstrual, and breast-feeding histories during the pregnancy trimesters and at 2, 4, 6, 9, and 12 months postpartum.
