Journal Watch Neurology began 11 years ago as an experiment designed to keep neurologists abreast of the dizzying array of advances in our field. The model was complex. It involved utilizing the talents of an international advisory board who scoured the world's literature and selected the most relevant articles for review by an expert. During the past 11 years, literally hundreds of people have participated as authors and reviewers, making Journal Watch Neurology a product by and for its own audience.
Now it is time to pass the baton to a new editorial team. I have enjoyed this project enormously. It reassured me about the generosity and talent of my innumerable colleagues across the globe, and it gave me the opportunity to come to know the many people who are so expert in their individual areas within the enormous field of neurology. Special thanks go to our editorial board members, to Deputy Editor Galen Henderson, MD, who was at my side when every decision was made, and to Christine Sadlowski, whose deep interest in neuroscience was complemented by impeccable editorial skills and infinite patience and tact.
