Married antisocial men seem to commit fewer crimes than their single counterparts. Does marriage inhibit antisocial behavior, or are men who are less prone to antisocial behavior more likely to get married? These investigators examined responses on structured interviews conducted with 188 monozygotic (MZ) and 101 dizygotic (DZ) male twin pairs at ages 17, 20, 24, and 29 who were participating in a large twin study.
Only 3.9% of respondents met full criteria for antisocial personality disorder; another 4.3% had one fewer feature than is required for formal diagnosis.
