An important feature of impulsivity is delay discounting, or minimizing later reward or harm for immediate gratification. To examine the relationship between delay discounting and impulsivity, researchers in this U.K. study used two models of delayed versus immediate reward and punishment and measured the electroencephalographic correlates in normal college students with and without high hypomanic traits, which are commonly associated with impulsivity.
