Recent meta-analyses have suggested that surgical treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) increases the rate of preterm delivery. Investigators in Finland, where the rate of preterm delivery has been increasing, conducted a register-based retrospective cohort study to determine whether surgical treatment of CIN increases the risk for adverse outcomes in subsequent singleton pregnancies. Surgical treatments included conization, cryotherapy, and electrocoagulation.
