Diagnosis of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) generally is based on clinical findings or ankle-brachial index measurements. However, making the decision to proceed to revascularization requires further imaging. In this meta-analysis of 32 prospective studies (each with 10–76 patients), researchers compared the sensitivity and specificity of contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) with those of the gold standard, digital subtraction angiography.
