An overview of randomized trials showed that luteinizing-hormone–releasing hormone (LHRH) agonists were effective in treating premenopausal women with hormone receptor–positive breast cancer (Lancet 2007; 369:1711). The overview included results from the Zoladex in Premenopausal Patients (ZIPP) study, a randomized, 2×2 factorial trial, which showed that the addition of the LHRH agonist goserelin (Zoladex) to standard adjuvant therapy was more effective than standard therapy alone during median follow-up of 5.5 years (Eur J Cancer 2006; 42:895).
