Hematologic, cytogenetic, and molecular response assessments are an established component of managing chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). To correlate BCR-ABL1 transcript levels at 3, 6, and 12 months after the initiation of first-line imatinib therapy (400 mg daily) with overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS), investigators conducted a single-institution study involving 282 consecutive patients with chronic-phase CML who underwent BCR-ABL1 transcript measurements every 6 to 12 weeks.
