Monoclonal antibodies that target the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) improve response rate, progression free survival (PFS), and, in some studies, overall survival (OS) in patients with wild-type KRAS metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Benefit from EGFR antibody therapy seems to be limited to patients with wild-type KRAS tumors, but recent data suggest that the anti-EGFR agent cetuximab might be effective for mCRC patients with KRAS G13D mutations (JW Oncol Hematol Jan 11 2011).
